Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how ABN Global Ventures Private Limited ("we", "us") handles personal information collected through the Forked Roots platform.

1. Information we collect

• Account data — name, email, phone, outlet details you provide when signing up.
• Guest booking data — name, phone, party size, booking notes submitted by your guests through your outlet page.
• Operational data — menu items, offers, events, cover-charge ledger entries, staff PIN activity.
• Technical data — device type, browser, IP address, timestamps, and diagnostic logs.

2. How we use it

• To deliver and operate the Service (bookings, QR menu, dashboards, wallet).
• To send transactional WhatsApp/SMS/email confirmations and reminders on your outlet's behalf.
• To improve product quality, prevent fraud, and secure the platform.
• To comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations.

3. Legal basis

We process personal data to perform our contract with you, to comply with law, and where you or your guests have provided consent (e.g., submitting a booking form).

4. Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with:

• Sub-processors that host or transmit data on our behalf (cloud hosting, WhatsApp Business gateway, email/SMS providers).
• Payment processors when you subscribe to a paid plan.
• Authorities when required by law or valid legal process.

5. Storage & security

Data is stored on managed cloud infrastructure with encryption in transit and at rest. Tenant data is isolated at the row level (Row-Level Security). Access to production data is restricted to authorised engineers on a need-to-know basis.

6. Retention

We retain account and booking data for as long as your subscription is active and for a reasonable period thereafter to comply with legal and audit requirements. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by writing to us; some records may be retained where required by law.

7. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing info@abnglobalventures.com. Guests should contact the outlet that collected their booking; we act as a processor for that data.

8. Cookies & measurement

We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember cart contents, and operate the dashboard. These are always on.

On restaurant pages (forkedroots.com/r/…), the Forked Roots app and our website we show one notice asking whether you accept measurement cookies. Nothing is sent until you choose.

• If you tap Accept, we load the Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms) and Google Analytics 4 (Google). On a restaurant's pages these report to that restaurant's own Meta and Google accounts when it has set them up, and otherwise to Forked Roots' accounts; Forked Roots' Google Analytics also receives every visit. The Forked Roots app and website report only to Forked Roots' accounts.
• What is sent: page views; viewing a dish, event or offer; menu searches; adding to cart; starting checkout; table and event booking requests (booking reference, party size, date, ticket count and value); taps on Call or WhatsApp; feedback ratings; and payments only after our payment provider confirms them. Your browser's standard technical data (such as IP address, device and cookie identifiers) reaches Meta and Google with these events. We never send your name, phone number or email.
• If you tap Only necessary, no Meta Pixel loads and nothing goes to a restaurant's accounts; Forked Roots' Google Analytics records visits without cookies and without advertising signals.
• Purpose: measuring visits and bookings and improving offers and ads by the restaurant and by Forked Roots.
• Your choice is remembered for 12 months. You can change or withdraw it at any time with the “Cookie settings” link on restaurant pages, or by clearing this site's data in your browser; withdrawal takes effect immediately. You can also write to the contact in section 12.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their data.

10. International transfers

Data may be processed on servers located outside India by our sub-processors. Where this occurs, appropriate safeguards are in place.

10A. Instagram data (Creator Cashback)

Creator Cashback is an optional programme. If you choose to connect your Instagram account, the following applies.

• What we collect — your Instagram account ID, username, account type and follower count; and, only for Reels you explicitly submit to us for a participation, their view and engagement counts.
• Why — solely to calculate the cashback you earn under Creator Cashback.
• What we do not do — we only read media you have yourself linked to a participation. We do not browse your account, do not read your direct messages through this connection, and never post on your behalf.
• No advertising, no sale — we do not use this data for advertising and we do not sell it.
• Who processes it — Supabase Inc. (database and authentication) and Lovable Labs Incorporated (hosting).
• Retention — your Instagram access token is held until you disconnect, then deleted. Instagram-derived data is removed when you request deletion. Settled cashback records are retained as financial records.
• How to disconnect — tap Disconnect Instagram inside Forked Roots (on your Creator Cashback page), remove Forked Roots under Apps and Websites in your Instagram settings, or write to us and we will disconnect it for you.
• How to request deletion — use the data deletion option in your Instagram settings, or email info@abnglobalventures.com. You will receive a confirmation code that you can check on our deletion status page.
• Your rights — under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may access, correct or erase this data, withdraw consent at any time, and raise a grievance, by writing to the contact in section 12.

11. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email or in-app notice.
